Wifi Ex5000 setup

what are the led's on it doing?
When you reset, are you pushing and holding reset for up to 15 seconds while powered on?
During the reset just the power led is red - then flashes the turns green. Then I look in my laptop WiFi manager see netgear_ext. I select it then the device led lights green. I can't get an internet signal then when I switch to it.
so it needs to go through setup.

I did review it and found it similar to those I watched. I chuckled at the caption from someone who used it and had the same problem I have - switching to the netgear_ext doesn't work because you don't have an internet connection to proceed. My additional issue is that bringing up the net gear genie, using the IP address only takes you as far as entering info to setup an account and upon hitting submit, nothing happens. The screens to continue setup do not appear.
If I missed something, please let me know. I don't want to come across as being difficult - I welcome the help.
