WiFi Extender - Nighthawk X6 R8000
I have a Nighthawk X6 R8000 router in a closet on the second floor of my house. Near the back middle section and the signal drops occasionally when a laptop is used in the kitchen, back of the house...

Thank you for your reply. House is a stucco house that is very well insulated with foam. Bottom floor is block and second floor is wood. 4200 sq feet. Router is in a central location on the second floor. My office is almost directly below the router and there are very few issues with the WiFi dropping. It is the kitchen area which is further away that the problem happens. I am thinking an extender may help.

Sounds like a good plan. If your interior walls are wood/sheetrock an extender will probably work great. And 4200 sq ft should work perfect with an extender and the R8000. I'd recommend one of the tri-band extenders to complement the R8000. I've got the EX8000 and it works great. Never used it with something like the R8000 though.
