Wifi Extender

I just bought a house and I have a detached garage. I need wifi out there. I have xfinity internet 1.2 gig modem. The gargae is about 15 yards from the modem. But I have one pod from xfinity that's about half way. And still low to no wifi out in garage. What can I use that'll work?

    any chance you can connect the 2 via ethernet? 

    Reason I ask is external walls tend to be made from materials that block wifi well. 

    If you can hardwire them in, thats the ideal solution

    It might help if you told people what this modem is. Perhaps it is a modem/router. That will affect what will work with it.
