WiFi Extender

You might not think its important (and it might not be) but many times, the little things are what cause the issues.
What extender model do you have?
Firmware on it?
What router is it connected to?
How far from the router are you and what is in between the 2 devices?
What method of setup did you use? (wps, installation assistant, app, etc)
I'm using the AC1200 WiFi Range Extender EX6110. I've set it up using the guide from the website and it's connected to a Spectrum router, and the extender itself is exactly at a halfway point between where I need to connect and the router. - So sorry for the vagueness of it all! I'm not very tech savvy, but to answer a few of your questions: the firmware I downloaded is the latest one, which to my knowledge is 1.0.1.80 for the extender itself. The router is a Spectrum WiFi6 router SAX1V1K router. The signal isn't being blocked by any interference because without the extender I can get to the halfway point without losing signal but the further away I am, the less strength the signal has (obvious, I know). The guide I set it up with is the default guide that it gives me to use when I first open the box, the NetGear Setup Wizard at the extender IP address. The warning it gives me says that anything I connect to will not be secure, and thus does not act like I'm actually connected because it says my certificate has expired.
A screensnip of the warning might help better. Sorry. Not sure where/how you're seeing this.
I do know that router struggles with extenders as it was designed for spectrum to work with their "pods"
