You should try both.
Nice thing about extenders is that you can move them around pretty easily.
If you're not moving them around a little and testing how they work in each location, then you're missing out on performance. Reason why is things within the walls or other interference can degrade signals.
so yes, try them both. See how each location works. If its not working well, try a different location.
