Wifi Mesh Extender ex6250 losing internet connection (with vodafone NBN Modem)

If you look on the vodafone forums, you see a ton of issues trying to use extenders with the vodafone routers. I haven't seen a good method that allows them to connect other than hardwiring in an extender and using it access point mode.
Would anyone be able to possibly explain why the internet connection works initially for a few seconds (around 5-10 seconds) then i lose it?
THis happens everytime i reset the extender and connect a device to it.
Is there any way of solving the problem? if the connection can be maintained it would great.
Not sure if its to do with the extender or the router.
