Wifi Range Extender not connecting to Xfinity

Hello,

 

I am trying to connect the AC750 WiFi Range Extender to my Xfinity motem/router (I just learned that it is both motem+router) but it is not working. 

 

I no longer have a NetGear Router so I have resetted the extender and was following the Nighthawk app instructions to set it up. I have it currently in the same room as the Xfinity motem/router for the initial set-up and will later be moved to a different room. My iphone connects to the extender and I am prompted to login to my Nightgear account. Once I do so, it tells me that it is unable to connect to my network. 

 

Any advice on what I might be doing wrong or if this device is not compatible with Xfinity?

    You can hardwiring it it and do the setup that route. Tends to work when you're having issues connecting. 

    Also, if you do hardwire in, disable the wifi on whatever device you hardwire in so it doesn't default back to the wireless connection.
