wired connection to extender

Hello everyone,

the extender is in extender mode linked to my wifi network and all is ok.

Now I try to connect a wired network device by an ethernet cable to the ethernet port of the extender but it does not work.

When I connect the device directly to the router all is working.

Can the extender ethernet port only be used in AP mode or I forgot something?
