WN1000RP over heating

I bought a WN1000RP range extender in March 2016.  It worked fine unit a few nights ago when it wouldn't connect, so I set it back up again.  It worked fine until last night (04/18/16) when it over heated and caught fire on my back porch at 1am.  We woke up to flames as high as the porch ceiling.  A few more minutes and the ceiling would have been on fire.  Has anyone else had this happen??

  • Is that outdoors?  What was the temperature and humidity at 1 AM?

I doubt the WN1000RP is rated for outdoor use.  The sensitive electronics are not going to handle large temperature and humidity swings very well.  The inside wall would have been a better location.

It was out on our covered patio up next to the house wall.  It was 62 degs and 50% humitity that night.  Not like it was sitting out in the weather (rain, heat).  It should not have overheated and shorted out sitting where it was.
