WN2000RPT - Internet Access Keeps Dropping

did two things and it worked again
went into configuration for extender and changed security to wpa-psk + wpa2-psk (bottom one) it had been wpa tkip which was set from the wizard, the router seems to be both g & n, which was noted n another thread
before that i went to my primary router (actiontec) and restricted the dhcp range and set up the extended with a static ip (252) outside of the dynamic range
