I believe you are referring to a static IP address that is usually given by Internet Service Providers. I am referring to the static DNS address that can be configured manually on the NETGEAR extender and your PC. You can use the set value of 4.2.2.2 for your Primary DNS server and 4.2.2.3 for your Secondary DNS server.
I am merely suggesting that you put the extender on the same room for isolation purposes.
