I think it is the wireless extenders MTU (Maximum Transmission Units) settings that need to be changed.
Xbox 360 requires a minimum of 1365 MTU apparently. Only problem is, i cannot find out how to change the MTU on the wn3000rp.
However these steps might work for someone else.
