WN3000RP : network invisible when using a "n" (not b/g/n) 802.11 device
Hi All, I have a WN3000RP with latest version. I have a strange behavior. When a device support "N" version only of 802.11 (for example, a raspberry PI 3), the network is invisible and the device c...

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. My understanding is that this Raspberry PI is "N" only.
Do you see a repeater model at NetGear that would be compatible with this scenario ? I thought that buying this version which is B/G/N would be long term investment, but it seem that it is not the case ;-(
Thanks !

Are you sure? It's very odd for a Pi to be "N" only.
I don't think any Netgear repeater will work. What might work is to use a router that supports DD-WRT and configure it to operate as a repeater. DD-WRT supports "N" only modes.

Hi,
Online doc says "N" : https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-3-model-b/
I will need to check if it is windows Iot Forcing this N only, or if it is a hardware constraint (will install a linux version).
Thanks !

802.11n doesn't necessarily mean N only. I've heard that Pis have notoriously weak Wi-Fi, so you might try moving it closer. Anyway, good luck.

Hi,
I have installed Rasbian, and I can see all my Wifi routers.
So today, I would say that it is a Windows IoT problem : none is listed.
I will investigate this way a bit more.
When I say "N" only, it is just that I noticed that the device (with windows, where driver says only "N" (and not N only ;-)) can see my phone using N, an not the G or the BGN.
I hope soon I will find a way out !
Thanks a lot !
Regards.
