Wn3000rp
I am thinking of using this netgear device to solve the following problem.
my existing router DG834G does not broadcast a strong signal, so I have 1 office which cannot recieve the signal.
The same office has a connected ethernet wall port which goes to a hub which is connected to the router.
Can I hard wire the WN3000rp within the office, to recieve and broadcast a broadband signal ?
sensible answers much appreciated.

Actually, disabling the Access Control on the Router but leaving it on with the Extender got me access. But what kind of a solution is that? It means I no longer have access control (by MAC address) on the router, thereby losing maximum security. - Jack_AspirantACL (Access Control List) is not very secure. Use the WPA/WPA2 security option on router and repeater. That's secure enough.

It should work without cutting connection . WPS suppose to keep the wireless more secure than traditional single passphrase. Although WPA/WPA2-AES should kee wireless secure over other type - drgadgetAspirant

@Jack: Many thanks for your advice here. You know, I actually had done this but was using my Google Nexus One for testing. Everything but the Nexus One worked the second time after your advice. :) - Jack_AspirantGlad this worked for you :D
