WN604 cannot connect to router
I have purchased a WN604 access point to provide wireless networking in my home. I have a cable modem (Cisco DPC3825) from my ISP (Mediacom) that works fine as a router/gateware for wired connections....
OK, I will return the access point and buy a wireless router instead. However, I still don't understand why this is necessary.
If I connect a PC to the modem/gateway, the upstream DHCP server assigns it an IP address. But if I connect the Netgear access point to the modem/gateway, the DHCP server won't assign it an IP address? Why?
