I did say out side of DHCP range. also long as you use outside of DHCP range then it will be based on your how you range the DHCP
I did ask myself that, but didn't know if the WNCE2001 acted as a DHCP server. Since when I configure the WNCE2001 I don't have access to any other DHCP server at the time (since I can't access the wireless network yet), I surmised that the address had to come from the WNCE2001, and not from the Verizon FIOS-supplied router, since I couldn't imagine how I'd have access to that router's DHCP server at that time.
I still can't imagine how I could get a DHCP-supplied address from the Verizon router while I'm only just configuring the WNCE2001. Or am I missing something here? If the WNCE2001 is supplying the IP address via DHCP, then I don't know its DHCP range.
In any case I'll try some static IP addresses until I find one that works.
