Got some good news! I have managed to get the firmware direct from Netgear.
I used the following link: https://my.netgear.com/myNETGEAR/support.asp to contact support yesterday.
This morning I received an email to confirm the NDA agreement and within the hour I received the firmware!
Best part... its fixed my problems! I have asked the support guy to post it on the downloads of the AP.
