wndr3700 readyshare and dlna

I can connect, read, write and stream 90% of the time to my Seagate Momentus 5400.6 120GB drive over USB connected to the router from my laptop.

Most of the time I cannot connect at all via xbox 360 or sony bluray player. I say most of the time because after a full reboot, the files are visible and streamable for a short time on both devices. I actually watched about 10 minutes of one movie last night before it lost the connection. Xbox says it may be behind a firewall or something.

What I have done:
Verified Media Server was enabled, disabled, reenabled rescan for files, tried a different HDD
Disabled firewall on router (at least I think I did... router login-advanced-WAN setup-NAT filtering open)

Setup:
Comcast modem to wndr3700 v1.0.1.42

cat6a cable to a gigabit switch with xbox360, another non dlna sony bluray, roku2 xs all connected. Switch was put in after problem was found in hopes it would fix it.

Cat6 cable to a 10/100 switch with dlna sony bluray, dish network joey

Cat5 cable to magicjack voip phone

Wireless- 1 laptop, 1 dish network hopper (5Ghz), 1 ipad2, 2 android phones, 1 android tablet, 2 kindles, 1 brother MFC printer, 1 roku2 HD. The android tablet is not connected often, kindles are always in airplane mode.

I just want to be able to reliably stream movies to the xbox and bluray player. Is this something that is more stable in the wndr4500? Or the R6100? Or how can I just get this one working, best buy will not be happy to see me back, I went from a belkin n150 to a n300 under protection plan, upgraded that to the wndr3400 under same protection plan and since saleslady did not know difference between 3400 and 3700, had to go back and exchange! I really do not want to go through that again.

Thanks all
