Well, I let my trouble ticket expire before I could respond to a question that they had asked. I had to go out of town and did not get back in time. I did some more research. Here are the details of my installation. I bought a pair(kit) of these access points just so I could use my new HP MediaSmart Connect x280n on my tv in the bedroom. The x280n has 802.11n wireless built-in but I elected not to use it to avoid any compatibility issues between HP and Netgear equipment. Therefore, I installed one of the Netgear units to my router as the AP in the living room where the HP z558 is connected to my router as my video server. The other Netgear unit is connected to the x280n in the bedroom as the bridge. The installation was performed just as the installation guide suggested. They linked up with each other on power up just fine and I can stream radio stations to the x280n off of the net without any problem. If I try to watch any of the video programming off of the z558 it will play for a short while (standard def video will play for a longer period of time than HD) and then the x280n will loose connection with the z558 and the Netgear bridge's front LED will start going through 3 flashes over and over. On further inspection, I find that the Netgear AP in the living room goes off, or at least the power led on the front goes off and I have to power cycle it to get it back up. I have a hard time believing that any of my other equipment would be causing this. It appears to be a problem with the two Netgear devices. It seems like they simply cannot handle high traffic load. When I looked at the log on the AP I got this message: "Wireless system with MAC address xxxxxxxxxxx disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication". What does this mean? Unfortunately, streaming video off of my z558 in the living to my x280n in the bedroom is the main, and only, reason I bought this Netgear pair/kit. I hope that I haven't wasted my money on something that has been brought to market too soon with the bugs not worked out. I feel they should work since they were both bought together and should work flawlessly since they are both the same. I would think that Netgear would release a firmware upgrade to correct this issue.
