WNR2000v3 Won't connect to HP products

I currently have Roadrunner internet using a Motorola SBV5151 cable modem. I just picked up a WNR2000v3 router after my old router (Belkin N-150) died. Until it died every device I have connected fine and never had any issues. With the WNR2000v3 router I cannot wirelessly connect either of my HP devices (HP Mini or HP Pavillion G6). All of my other devices connect fine (Lenovo laptop, Droid Razr, Wii, etc). On the Mini (running XP) it will connect for a 10-15 minutes at a time, but it will then drop and say there is no internet access. If I disconnect and reconnect manually it will work again for another 10-15 minutes. The G6 (Running Win 7) will do the same thing but it's more frequent, and it will not work again when I disco/reco. All the while my Lenovo laptop, and Moto Razrs are still connected and working just fine.

Any ideas while HP products seem to not work with Netgear devices?

  • try different wireless modem/encryption combination in the router's wireless settings
  • Hi,

Try to update the FW of the device and perform a Factory Reset. Try setting up again the device with different W/L settings.
  • The router doesn't know (or care) what brand of computer or device you connect to it - or for that matter what the OS is.

The fact that your other devices remain fully functional suggests that the router is fully functional - perhaps a call to HP support would be appropriate.
