Currently, my 5 ghz is password proteted but my 2.4 ghz is not. When I go and select this security option WPA2-PSK [AES] and add a password on it, it does not show that a password is needed. I would ...

Thank you for the update. Did you try to reset the Cable gateway? If not yet please do so and set it up again and see if that resolves the issue.

I have already read through the documentation and reset to factory settings as described in the manual. That is why I have asked this question on the forum, as the current documentation was not helpful in resolving my issue.
