   What, exactly, are they?  Look for "Model" on the product labels.

   Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number(s), and
look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look
for "Troubleshoot".  Further reading might not hurt, either.

   What, exactly, does "booster" mean to you?  What does Netgear call
it?

   What, exactly, is your (unspecified) "the router/hub"?

   An Ethernet cable normally has two ends.  What, exactly, are you
connecting to what, exactly?  (Hint: If a device has different types of
ports, then "connected to device" is not enough detail.)

   You don't need to use the Ethernet port on a PLWxxxx model.  A PLxxxx
model without an Ethernet connection would be pointless.

   If you're refering to a PLWxxxx model, then it should go where it
works best.  Its ability to communicate with the other Powerline adapter
depends on the power wiring.  I'd expect some pairs of outlets (for both
adapters) to work better than others.  Its ability to communicate with
wireless devices depends on its placement with respect to the wireless
client devices. Predicting the performance of any (invisible)
arangement is impractical; experiment is much more reliable.
