AC-1200 R6220 router issues

I have a netgear ac-1200 R6220 router that my pc is hard wired in to. I am experiencing huge ping spikes at all times. When i play games Like Player Unkowns Battlegrounds i get kicked out of games due to ping. when i test my ping it stays at a decent 25 ms and then will peak upwards of 250 ms for a split second. When i plug directly into my modem i dont have these issues at all. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PLEASE HELP I HAVE TRIED EVRYTHING?

  • Hi Kynetix14,

Have you tried re-flashing the firmware then doing a factory reset?

    Hi Kynetix14,

    1. What is the firmware version of the router?

    2. Does the issue (ping spike) persist on all your devices (wired and wireless)?

    3. Have you tried resetting the router?

    4. Does the ping spike only occur when you are playing the game or on regular browsing as well?

      1.  Latest version of router firmware

2.yes but i only really notice it in this game because they implement a system that protects against lag switchers so when my ping spikes for that split second i get booted.

      3. yes multiple times resetting

        Hi Kynetix14,

I would like to follow up and check if you are still experiencing the issue.

      Hi Kynetix14,

You can try re-flashing the firmware then do factory reset and check if the issue persists. Please do not restore the settings if possible.
