AC1200 initial setup VIA pc NOT smartphone

I just purchased the AC 1200 and when I iopened the box is has the router, power, cheap 4 conductor patch cable and a place to download an app for smart phone.  Is it NOT possible to do an initial setup via the PC it will be physically attached to I see nothing with the default IP for the router etc,  searching the forums and support I didn't find anything that seemed helpful.  Could someone verify that you can setup by direct conncetion to pc or if the Nighthawk app via phone is the ONLY way... Thanks in advance

"AC1200" is a speed, not a model number.  Ever helpful, Netgear
product packaging emphasizes speeds like "ACxxxx", but that's not the
model identifier.  Look at the product label.

It's possible.  Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your
(actual) model number, and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.
    Read.

Sure.  As explained in the User Manual (and/or Installation Guide).
All you need is some computer/device with a web browser, and the ability
to make a wired or wireless connection to the router.

"not able" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
    interpretations.

  • Hi,
I’ve just purchased the AC1900 and for some reason having a similar problem with the initial setup where I haven’t been able to setup the internet.

I found it after you pointed out where the documetation could be downloaded from, thank you.. now to figure out why I am still only getting half the wire download speed I am capable of, but that's another thread or conversation. Thanks again
