Is there a list somewhere in the router of the different IP Addresses that have connected to the router? My old Dlink router had a log file with this information but I can not find anything like it o...
- Feb 29, 2016You want the name that the printer considers its own. This rules out the share name; that's the name your computer uses to refer to the printer.
Try HP2E2585. The printer likely reported it as its name to the router. Or try HP2E2585.local.
If the printer has a display panel, then look through its settings. You may find a setting for its name.

Thanks for the reply. I had found that screen and was using it to get the IP Addresses only to find out last night that sometimes the IP Addresses can change. I need to be able to log in to my printer will my browser and I need to know for sure what the IP Address will be.

Some printers support mDNS (aka Bonjour) and are, therefore, reachable by name regardless of their IP address. For example, if your printer's name is foo, try entering foo.local into your browser.
You can also try entering the printer's NetBIOS name into a browser on Windows (e.g. http://foo/).
If neither of those work, then you can set up an IP address reserveration for the printer. Log into the R6220 and go to LAN Setup. There you can assign a fixed IP address for your printer. If your printer already has an IP address, then the reservation is straightforward. Page 115 in the manual (link) goes into more detail about address reservations.

I am not sure what name you are talking about...I am still trying to learn all of this. I could only find 2 names.

One is the shared name of the printer that the install program set and it is
Share name = HP ENVY 4510 series (Network)
and on the Router screen I found a Device name on the Router Devices named = HP2E2585
I don't know where to find the netbios name.
Sorry I don't know any more than I do.
