AC1600 Configuration Question

I just received my AC 1600 (R6330 was not an option in the Subject/Model fields) and have a modem/router that my ISP provided. Can the Netgear router be set in another room, away from the modem/router combo? Or does it have to be connected via Ethernet cable?

Also, would it be more beneficial to have 2 networks (i.e. ATT and Netgear) or 1 network (Netgear) for signal/connectivity, etc.?

Thank you

    Hi benkearney7,

    Good day!

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

First of all, we do apologize for the inconvenience of not getting back to you immediately due to the backlog in the system. Regarding your concern, the router needs to be wired to the modem. If you are planning to extend the wireless signal to the other room, we would recommend getting a mesh extender instead.
