Hi - I just purchased the AC1600 R6260 wireless router and I cannot get it to connect to our internet when following the install instructions. The old router was working, so I know that the modem and...

You can get to the admin console with all the router settings by plugging a computer into the router with an ethernet cable. Open a web browser and type in 192.168.1.1 and you will be prompted for a password and it will lead you through the setup. Default is user: admin password: password . If it doesn't recognize the internet after it leads you through the setup then try messing with the Internet IP settings I mentioned in the previous post.
I know the struggle lol just dont give up! Once I got it working it actually increased my network speed by 3x.

Wow - can we hire you to help us?đ
We donât have the technical know-how to handle this installation Iâm afraid! It is more complicated than the first one we got many years ago. Anyway, thanks for the reply! We will keep trying.

Instead of creating your own, new thread for your own, different
problem, you joined this old thread, and then, apparently, paid no
attention to the advice in it. Why?> [...] Here's a radical concept:

Plug an ethernet cable into it and connect the other end to your computer. Then you should be able to use a web browser to navigate to the 192.168.1.1 . Username: user ; Password: passoword . Then it will lead you through the setup and you'll be able to change the SSID name for the router.

At least one of us should read the documentation more carefully
before offering advice like this. Reading your own advice before
hitting "POST" might not hurt, either.
