AC1750 R6400v2 stuck on 802.11a\g?

For some reason, my devices (like windows laptops) are unable to use anything other than 802.11a on 5GHz and 802.11g on 2.4GHz. I noticed this because I was only able to download at 30mbps on 5GHz, and I've seen much faster speeds before. I am running the latest firmware at the time of writing (V1.0.4.128_10.0.104).

  • 2.4GHz channel selection is set to auto, Mode is set to "upto 450 mbps"
  • 5GHz channel selection is set to 153, Mode is set to "upto 1300 mbps"
  • I have checked for signal crowding using the Ping Tools app on my phone, and congestion seems fine
  • Airtime Fairness was on, but toggling made no difference.
  • Beamforming is on
  • WMM QoS is disabled

I'm at a loss. Is this a firmware issue? If it is, how can I file a bug report with netgear?

  • ...and I fixed my problem... turns out it was WMM, I had disabled it to troubleshoot something else, but turns out that was what prevented things using faster network modes. Now I have 802.11ac lmao.

Turned airtime fairness back on after that, and it has not made any negative difference.
