If you mean there is no cable connection betweeon router WAN port and modem LAN port, of course no access to the 'net.

Reason my cable company gaave me a new router. That was supposted to come with my equipment.

You should be able to set up a Netgear AC1750 router as a "access point". I'm not sure if that is what you mean by a "booster" or not.
Can you let us know exactly what model number you have?

Well I got my router Model from the web site by pic.
I have no number on it just went by the color band at the bottem.
Jst wanted to extend my range in house.
