Great, that helps. If it says "R6300v2" then it's a somewhat newer version. If it says only "R6300" it's the original v1.

The R6300 can be used as a WiFi access point. It has a "repeater" mode, but you shouldn't use it. It's not secure, and it's limited to 802.11g speeds.
What is the model of your ISP router? We can possibly compare it ot your R6300 and see which has better wifi.
