AC1750v2 R6400 running at half speed
I pay Spectrum for 200 mbps internet and called them and they told me when a tech arrived that your router isn't putting your internet up to the full capacity and tried to get me to rent their router...
What modem do you have?
What firmware is on the R6400?
What speeds do you get hardwired into the R6400? Not over the wireless.
the 1300mbps is in a 3x3 wireless configuration and is only link speed, not throughput speed.
theres a difference between the 2 as well as I highly doubt your laptop has a 3x3 wireless chipset in it.
How are you speedtesting? what websites?

-What speeds do you get hardwired into the R6400? I don't have a unit to measure that but my comparison was this router versus the router from Spectrum (which is the modem as well). Why is it that their router has much higher speeds with the same unit measuring it (laptop and iPhone)?

Actual details helps since it might not be, as well as it doesn't help others that might have this issue when they're researching. We do it in the forums so if there's others, they can see what you've tried/done.

I don't have a unit to measure that----thats key as many variables impact wireless from the channel you're on, to interference, to double nats (see above). but my comparison was this router versus the router from Spectrum (which is the modem as well----see double nat above)). As well as if you're on the 2.4ghz you won't get close to your speeds. 2.4ghz is much much slower than 5ghz.

But with both routers it was off of Ookla's speed test. Did you try different servers on ookla? over 2.4ghz? over 5ghz? Tried changing channels? Tried a hardwired speedtest (Recommended)? Tried fixing the double nat?
So my original test was on the router provided before that didn't do wifi, it was solely a modem and it ran at only 135 mbps, so it wouldn't make sense to be the double nat thing.
As for firmware, I checked for updates again (like right now as I am typing) and it's the latest which is V1.0.4.106_10.0.80.
Also why would I try different servers on Ookla if the server was the same for the Spectrum router and the same for the Netgear router. I feel like we are spinning around it. So again, I tested the router multiple times. So before I had a modem only, and when I tested through that modem which they took already so no modem details, that was 135 mbps, when I test through their modem/router unit, it's at 135 mbps. So it's the same. With their router, spectrum's, it runs at 235 mbps. The double NAT wouldn't make sense since before it wasn't a router as well it was just a modem. And for any other issue, like my laptop's abilities, what servers i tested on, I said before that I tested both on 5g so it was apples to apples on what signal wifi i tested off of.
its never "apples to apples" when you're using different manufacturers devices, with different setups, and even different levels of performance.
I wouldn't compare netgears RAX200 to a R6400 because its an order of magnitude difference.
Did you factory reset your r6400 after changing modem/gateways? always a good idea when changing gateways.
Are you using parental controls, qos, traffic monitoring, or access controls? If so, try disabling them and rebooting the router. or if you factory reset, don't enable them.
did you try changing wifi channels on the 5ghz?
And double nat can slow things down because the other router could have its own qos. and maybe it was designed to work with the ubee router. spectrum isn't known for being the most helpful with 3rd party devices because they want you to rent their gear.
Did you put your ubee in modem only/passthrough mode?
Or try the factory reset?
And changing servers with ookla does make a difference. Its why we recommend trying more than 1.
