AC750 EX6100

I have connected my AC750 to my home network successfully.  I can test out from the extender to the internet with no problems.  However, I have no extension output from the unit. (no _EXT). I used an ethernet output and switched to it, but nothing is extended out.  The unit is absolutely useless.  What could possibly be wrong?.  This the 2nd unit I've tried! HELP!

    Hi kentuckyblackbi,

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

Thank you for reaching out. Just to clarify, the extender is wired to your main router with an ethernet cable, is that correct? How did you setup the extender?

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,

  • 1. what router are you connect it to?

    2. during setup, did you use wps or the installation assistant?

    3. what firmware is on the extender?

    4. what version do you have? Theres a version 1 and a version 2. Version 2 is a mesh extender. meaning that if its setup using wps or its defautl configuration using the assistant, it sets up using the same SSID (name) as the router. So if you used that router, you won't see a ****_ext. You'll simply see 1 ssid and your devices will roam between the 2 based off their own roaming protocols.

      1. I am connected wireless to an ATTCO router.

      2. I am not setup through WPS.  The router does not have that option.  I used the installation assistant.  I also have the NightHawk app set up on my phone to monitor and test on the system.

      3. I updated the firmware so it should be the latest.

      4. I have version 1.

From your very appreciated reply the unit may be working OK. I may be looking for something that does not exist.  I can test from the extender to the router and out on the internet with no problem.  I panicked because I expected to see an _EXT added to 'available networks'.

On my laptop 'available networks' I see where someone else has added a netgear extender and both their network and the network extender are on the list.  I assumed I would see that also.

Sadly, that is not a reliable indicator. While "should be" makes sense – and may well be true – an "onboard" check may not be the latest. It can miss recent updates and any "Hotfix". versions.

The only way to tell is to look at the number of your firmware and then to compare that with the versions available on the support pages for that device.

In your case, it should be Firmware Version 1.0.2.28.

        I find this surprising.

What is the model of this ATTCO router? Google can't find any routers with that brand name.
