Best way to optimize Wi-Fi speed for multiple devices?!

Hi everyone,
I recently set up a Netgear router at home and have multiple devices connected laptops, phones, smart TVs, and some IoT devices.

How do you optimize Wi-Fi speed when lots of devices are active at the same time?

Are there specific settings in Netgear routers (like QoS or band steering) that actually make a noticeable difference?

Any tips for reducing interference from neighbors’ networks?

Thanks for any suggestions

    What router did you get?

And you posted in the NAS forum. Might have better results in the forum for your device.

What speeds do you pay for?

Netgear routers typically have no method to prioritize certain devices or types of use over others.  The general recommendation is to seek out WiFi channels which have the fewest nearby systems using them.  10-15 years ago when average internet speeds were much lower than today, there was more interest in methods to provide capacity for the most important devices and tasks.  Now that average internet speeds are measured in the hundreds of megabits/second (and even gigabits/second!) there is simply less interest.  Streaming 4K video takes about 25Mbig/sec.  If the internet speed is 300Mbit/sec, a user could have 8 televisions streaming movies and still have 100Mbit/sec left for other uses.
