Brand new router - wifi signal disappeared after two days

You are right about "a few years back". The WNDR4500 dates from 2013. Don't expect much of the N900 wifi.

It has to work alongside the modem that connects you to the Internet. What is the make and model of your modem?

I don't know what you mean by that, but if you set up the router you don't need to pay Netgear anything. ISPs are more likely to charge you rent for devices.

If you mean they want money for support, free support runs out 90 days after you buy the device. It is at least five years since anyone could buy the most recent version (V3) of this router. Netgear stopped supporting it a while back:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Look for the model number on the label on the device. It is important to have the right version. No V number means V1.

That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.

There may also be some helpful videos on what to do.

You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
