c7000-100nas settings

i have this c7000 i got a few weeks ago and when i firs set it up i pushed the reset button on the back for the 7 to 10 plus, so all the lights went out and then they all came back on steady. so it finally got connected and i looked and in the wan setup the box was not checked for the disable port scan and dos attacks.

yesterday the modem stopped working and i have to do the factory reset again the same way and this time the wan setup it has that boxed checked.

so what is the correct way to have this bosx? checked or left open? thanks
