the WN2500rp is a base model dual band extender. its never been even under optimal testing conditions.

The EX8000 is quite a significant upgrade. I can't tell you how much because each home is different. and the problem is the home. If the floors/walls are thick and made of plaster lathe, adobe, brick, concrete or another material that does great at blocking wifi, you'll have issues with pretty much all extenders that run off the wifi.
can I tell you it'll work? not 100%.
could you buy one from somewhere with a generous return policy and try it out? sure.

You potentially could see significant improvments. The EX8000 has a 1733mbps backhaul connection to the primary router (if the router supports it). So potentially it could be much faster. It also doesn't take the 50% speed hit that standard extenders take because it has a dedicated backhaul from router----extender.
But I can't say 100% that you'd see them because each home is different. And 5ghz doesn't penetrate as far or through as much materials as 2.4ghz.

Thanks again. One question: would you make the switch?
