Can i connect an R6260 to my Virgin hub via a Cat6e cable to give me wifi down my garage ?
Hello , I have a Virgin super hub 3 in my house and need to have internet access in my Mancave down the bottom of the garden (40 metres away) . The wifi signal from the hub was very flaky down there ...

It's not wonderful enough to qualify as "overkill" for much, but your
demands don't sound especially great, either. Define "better". If your
old junk was adequate, than almost any new thing (with gigabit/s
Ethernet ports) should be, too. If you try to save the last $2, you
might be able to find something worse than your old junk.

Apologies for not providing finite detail in my question , but you managed to fathom out my requirement and your instruction & links worked for me.
I went and purchased an R6260 router and after a bit of headscratching i managed to log in to it and set it as an access point.
Following the instructions in the manual i downloaded the nighthawk app , but the app kept failing to connect over wifi using my phone. Instead i had to hardwire the R6260 to my laptop using an ethernet cable and managed to gain access to the routers I.P address and it's menu's that way. I found the menu's to be laid out / worded differently from the instructions but i found what i was looking for eventually and got it sorted in the end.
in any case , it's now set up and working brilliantly . I have dual band WiFi in the Mancave at the bottom of my garden , with a fantastic, consistent signal and blistering speeds compared to my ageing Belkin router . It's definately a welcome upgrade when all i was looking for was to simply get it working again.
