Hi again Elaine, well guess what....I was finally able to log in....I went to the network support tab first and entered my email address and password. Once I was logged in, I was able to go to the router settings tab and do what I wanted to do. It never worked this way before....I was always able to log in through router settings first, but no matter...I'm in now and thanks very much again for your help!

thanks Elaine for prompt response. My computer is definetely connected to my router. I realize my router is no longer in warranty, but it hasn't been for quite some time and I've always been able to open Netgear Genie from my desktop.
