Can't access old Netgear n600 router settings
I'm looking to setup an old Netgear n600 router as an access point, but I can't seem to figure out how to access the router's settings.
I'm trying to access via my desktop. I don't need to be connected to the internet, do I?
Here's what I've been doing:
Unplug my desktop from my ISP router
Power up the n600 and plug it into my desktop's ethernet
When I then try to access routerlogin.net, routerlogin.com or 198.168.1.1.1, I can't get through
I've tried Firefox, Chrome, and Edge. No dice!
Please help!

Make sure you use and manually type in the http:// prefix and not https://.
If you have not done so, you can go to the Downloads section above and download the manual for your router.
A couple of things.
1. When its plugged into the desktop's ethernet, ensure the desktop isn't connected via wifi to the primary router.
2. also, make sure the N600 isn't plugged into the current router (yet).
3. Once that's done, pull up a command prompt and type ipconfig. The default gateway will give you the address for the n600 router to access it. That should be able to get you access and you can then go in and change it to AP mode.
4. Throw the N600 in the garbage and upgrade to something half-decent. The N600 devices weren't fast and areancient. Several generations behind. You can pick up a used AC router or even an AX router for really reasonable and get much, much better performance. Stop wasting time/energy on a low performing AP.

You typed the web address for your router wrong. Type 192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net
