Can't access router password

I have the same problem all the time

  • I am having the same problem.  I don't know if it is the router or the crappy Nighthawk  app.  It kept telling me it couldn't connect.  I broke down and did the reset.  After a couple of hours and many attempts I was actually able to get in to the router through the app.  I had changed my password for access previoulsly and wanted to change from the built in original password and keep getting message that it can't apply the cofiguration.  I things like Alexa devices, Ring doorbell, and a repeater connected to it.  It is a pain to change all those passwords when it should be a simple action to change the password for the router. I also tried unsuccessfully to go directly through the router using the routerlogin.net and get the "can't find the router message".  I am extremely unhappy with this situation.  It is an R6250  router for what that is worth.  This is going to cause me to be sure there is ot another Netgear router in my future.

Be sure to set up the router next time with a PC and web browser for better access to setup features:

Also the R6250 is older generation and is EoL:
