Can't connect to Guest Network

I recently created a new Guest Network within Netgear Gennie.  The process was very straight forward and the SSID now appears within the list of available WiFi Networks.  However, when I enter the passphrase to logon to the Guest Network, I get the error message "can't connect to this network."  I know that I am entering the correct passphase, so I have no idea what could possibly be wrong.

  • Hi jstorlie1,

    1. What is the firmware version of the router?

    2. Does the issue persist on all the wireless devices that you are trying to connect?

    3. Does the issue persist on both bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz) of the guest network?

    4. Have you tried resetting the router?

    Regards,

Thanks so much for the reply!

We are using a Netgear Smart WiFi Router with a model number of R6300v2

There is no option to change the channel within the Guest Network tab.  Thus, are you saying that we should change the channel of or regular household wireless network from auto to any of the the available numbers between 1 and 11?

      Thanks agian

      Hi again,

I just changed the channel of our default home network from auto to 2 and I'm still unable to login to the guest network.
