Ended up upgrading my router to a Nighthawk 7000. Solved my problem albeit at quite a cost.

Many thanks for the prompt reply,
The message is displayed when I open Netgear Genie on my PC.

Don't see the SSID.
Not sure on "wireless security". How do I check?

How is the computer with the NETGEAR Genie connected to the router?
Is it wired or wireless?
Can you post a screenshot of the exact window you see?
You can verify the wireless security by accessing the admin page of the router.
See the link below for the same instructions on how to verify the wireless security.
However, if the wireless security in asterisk or not visible then just set a new password.

Is that the screen you see when you connect to the WNDR3400 from your PC?
It has nothing to do with the wifi that comes out of the WNDR3400. It is showing you what the PC sees in the way of wifi. If your PC is hard wired to the WNDR3400, then it probably doesn't have wifi. Nothing to connect to.
The tabs you need to go to are the ones that you see when you hit the Router Settings button.
(The picture may take a while to land here.)
Panasonic 4K PVR doesn't look like a model number, so it is hard to know if it supports 2.4GHz or 5GHz wifi, or both. Check the manual.
Can anything in the house see your wifi? A smartphone? Tablet?
I ask because the first challenge is to ensure that the WNDR3400 is delivering wifi. Only then can you sort out the TV.
Powerline turns your mains circuit into a LAN network.

It is less sensitive to interference. (Ten metres should be OK for wifi, unless there are a lot of steel reinforced walls in the way.)
But stick with the wifi for the time being.
Are the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi lights showing on the front?
