Changing routers

Hi, First time here. I have the R6250 wifi router at the momment but am thinking of upgrading to the Nighthawk AX3000. My question is this, I have roughly 18 smart switches ,plugs, etc. all setup and working at the moment. If I upgrade to the new router but same brand, will I have to setup each individual smart switch or plug again. Very much of a nuisance if I have to go through that again.

Thanks for any info.

Alex

I wouldn't expect the brand to matter much.

If you configure the wireless-network credentials (SSIDs,
passphrases) on the new router to match those of the old router, then I
wouldn't expect your Internet-of-Junk gizmos to notice any difference.
If your IoJ gizmos are typical, then the set-up of the 2.4GHz band might
be all that matters to them.  (Fancier devices might care about the 5GHz
    band.)
