Cloned settings on old router to D6400

I have cloned the setting from old working router on to a newer (but used) D6400. I get invalid gateway,   Cannot test DNS   Fix adapter :en0 failed. error.. Is it a bad D6400 router?

Old Router is Actiontec .11g

  • Thank you for your very kind help and suggestions. Returning it as defective.

Firmware version?  Did you reset the settings on the D6400 before
    beginning this adventure?

With my weak psychic powers, I can't see the settings on the old
    router, or on the D6400.

You get "invalid gateway", et al. from what, when you do what?

As usual, showing actual actions with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
    descriptions or interpretations.

       That's a model number?

On what, the "MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)"?

You left out "Configure IPv4: [...]".  Is that "166" a typo, or an
        actual (Manually configured?) problem?

        > Using Netgear Genie: [...]

I've never touched any of the Genie apps, so I know nothing, but...

        >   [...]

Having a client-device IP address of "192.166.a.b" and a Router with
an IP address of "192.168.a.c" might qualify as an invalid gateway.

Unless you need a fixed IP address for the Mac, you might have less
trouble if you specified "Using DHCP" instead of "Manually" (assuming
that that's what you did).  And even if you did want a fixed address,
then you could reserve a particular (dynamic) address in the router's
DHCP server (ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup : Address Reservation).
