I would stick to that version for now. I've seen issues on the .118/.120 version.

try installing version 1.0.4.106 of the firmware to the router. then do a factory reset and reinstall. Don't install from a backup. Disable auto-updates and test the speeds.
The Netgear cm1000 cable modem, i cannot update the firmware
I am using a windows 10 PC and using xfinity speed test program---what windows 10 pc? Have you tried other speedtest sites?
When connected to the Netgear cm1000, download speeds are at 400 mps or better.
When connected to the Netgear ac1750, download speed is about 200 mps or lower
