Connect 2 USB Drives to WNDR 4500
Hello,
I have a WNDR 4500 / N600 router. I already have one USB drive attached (USB_Storage (\\READYSHARE) (T:) which works fine.
I want to attach a second USB drive to the other socket. I can attach it and However when the router gets turned on/off again the drive letters get switched around
Anon2015 Have you tried removing the letter drive and add by mapping it again?

I want to attach a second USB drive to the other socket. I can attach it and map it to a drive letter (I:), all works perfectly. However when the router gets turned on/off again the drive letters get switched around (T points to the I drive and vice versa).
It is possible to attach two USB drives at the same time isn’t it?
Any ideas? (Sorry first post was posted before I’d finished writing…)
Thanks.

That should work. What's the exact model version of your router?
The version number can be verified here.
Do you have the latest firmware installed on the router?
The router firmware can be downloaded from here and here's an article on how to upgrade the firmware manually.
After firmware upgrade, reset the router for 10 seconds using a paperclip.
Resetting the router will require reconfiguration.
Let us know what happens.

ElaineM,
Thanks for the reply and advice.
The exact model version of my router is WNDR4500 N900 Wirless Dual Band Gigabit Router.
It already had the latest firmware version on: V1.0.1.40_1.0.68.
I reset the router. (It didn't seem to work with the paperclip so I did it through NETGEAR Genie.)
It found both drives.
I didn't realise they would both show up under \\READYSHARE\.
I have now mapped both to drive letters T: and I:.
I'll see how stable this is over the next few days.
Thnaks for your help.
