Hi. Thanks for responding! I have a modem from optimum my internet provider, I believe it says Arris on the side. And the router is a nighthawk r7450. I have no idea about firm wear or how to find that out! Any help is appreciated!!
What arris is it? Look at the model number on the label.
When you're logged into the r7450's gui (browser based login), the firmware will be on the status page
- Ok. I'll take a look at the Arris info. Also I tried to log into the router with the up address I found on the laptop when I did that "ipconfig" thing. It didn't seem to work. Sorry, I'm really new with all this! Could I have done it wrong!? Thank you again for helping!
- The Arris is tm822g. When I type in the up address in the browser it still doesn't show me anything so I can't look for the firmware

How are you typing it?
that modem is a bit older of a modem.
Have you hardwired into it to ensure its working properly?
