Connecting a tethered computer to the Internet port of a WNDR3700v4

When I connect the Ethernet port from my tethered thinkpad to the Internet port of my WNDR3700v4 I get no wireless internet connections. Is there something else I have to do?

  • Ok, you have two options:

    1. The easier option is to enable Internet Connection Sharing on your laptop's Ethernet interface.
    2. The better but harder option is to bridge the Wi-Fi and Ethernet interfaces together.  This article show you how to do it.

  • Are you trying to provide Internet access to devices connected behind the WNDR3700v4?

Yes. The tethered computer is to be the internet provider to the router.
