Corrupted Firmware Update AC750 - R6020
Hello,
I've just attempted to update my firmware on my router when the update was interrupted and the firmware is now corrupted. A slow green blinking of the power button and an inability to reset this when turned off and on again.
I've looked online and tried a few different things to fix the issue.
I've downloaded the firmware update as a ZIP file and attempted to install the update via TFTP.
I am unable to do this however because when I connect to my router via an ethernet cable, it doesn't come up as though it's connected. I am unable to access the router's IP. I do not have a default gateway because the router is not registering anything.
Worse still, I thought it might save some time if I just reset the router. I attempted to do this, I found what looks to be the reset button next to the power button, I pressed this for at least a couple of minutes but this does not seem to do anything and I cannot locate any hole where the reset button might be elsewhere.
Can anyone help with this issue? Struggling to find anything on the net to resolve it.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Thanks for the reply.
I am on windows and I followed the guide as you said and typed in the command as listed on the site (changed my file name obviously) however the response I received was that the cmd couldnt read from the local file?
I've enabled tftp.
I did have some success following the youtube video you posted. The program even actually said the firmware had been updated successfully, however my router still shows a flashing green power light.
I have updated it using 2 different computers with the same result.
I must be doing something wrong, right?

Nevermind.
I'd read a couple of places that some firmware updates can cause the router updates to corrupt so what I did was download the earliest version of the software and work my way up until the router started working again.
Thankfully it's working and I don't need to buy a new one.
Thank you for your help!
