I agree that DNS is not likely to play any part in this situation unless there are multiple resolutions for the URL. i.e. most of the time 82.29.87.211 is returned but occasionally the DNS resolves to some other IP address.
Is there a pattern to the problem? i.e. users with a specific ISP consistently report issues? Perhaps a time of day? (like when the web database is backed up or refreshed?)
What is Netgear specific about the issue?
- Complaints come most frequently from users with Netgear routers?
- The web server hosting is behind a Netgear router?
